Nursery Worker

Overview of Position: Nursery Workers provide a safe, secure, nurturing, clean and efficient environment to care for children:  infants - 4th grade.  Part-time position, up to 15 hours per week

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Abide by FMC Safe Sanctuary Policies
  • Be dependable, reliable and arrive on time. Stay until all children are picked up by parent or guardian.
  • Maintain current CPR training for infant and children 
  • Provide care to children which includes: feeding, changing diapers, maintaining a safe environment, putting children down for a nap, holding, sitting with and cheerfully interacting with the children through games, stories, crafts and play.
  • Maintain good hand-washing/hand hygiene after diaper changes and after assisting children with tissues for coughs, sneezes or runny noses.
  • Wear gloves while changing diapers and disinfect diaper changing area after each diaper change
  • Help keep the nursery clean at all times. (Pick up toys throughout the shift, empty trash, dispose of diapers appropriately, wipe off table and toys with cleaning products, clean bathroom, etc.)
  • Clean nursery after shift  
  • Follow Nursey Guidelines at all times: such as each child must receive a sticker on their back and are to match with the adult picking up the child.
  • Ensure the safety of the nursery environment
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule
  • Must be available to work Sunday mornings, Tuesday or Wednesday evenings
Recommended Qualifications
  • Prior nursery experience/babysitting experience preferred
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Must be age 17+
  • Communication and relational skills
