Job Title: Bookkeeper
Organization: Montgomery County Fair Association
Location: Conroe, TX (On-site, minimum two days per week)
Employment Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt Hours: 20-40 hours per week. 40+ hours per week during annual Montgomery County Fair and Rodeo.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience, hourly rates, paid bi-weekly.

About Us
The Montgomery County Fair Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to championing the youth of Montgomery County. We support and develop opportunities for young individuals through scholarships and events, including the annual Montgomery County Fair and Rodeo.

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong financial management skills, experience in non-profit bookkeeping, and proficiency in QuickBooks (both online and desktop). This role is essential in maintaining the financial integrity of our organization, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and supporting the Executive Director and leadership team with financial reporting, analysis, and upkeep of all association accounts and transactions.

Key Responsibilities
• Reconcile bank accounts and manage cash flow monitoring
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Pay bills and vendors in a timely manner
• Input checks, payments, and credit card transactions, reconciling with accounts
• Manage inventory and cost control processes
• Prepare and maintain financial reports
• Process payroll and ensure timely tax filings
• File and pay sales tax, as well as assist with annual tax documentation and preparation
• Ensure compliance with financial and non-profit regulations

Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree preferred. A minimum of five (5) years of bookkeeping experience required.
Software Proficiency: QuickBooks (both online and desktop) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Non-Profit Experience: Previous experience working with non-profits is helpful, but not mandatory.
Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple financial tasks efficiently.
Communication Skills: Ability to effectively collaborate with the Executive Director, President, Treasurer, and Finance Committee.
Work Environment: This is an in-office position requiring a presence at least two days per week at our Conroe, TX location.
