The Salvation Army Battle of the Bells Red Kettle Challenge
The Salvation Army of Montgomery County Commanding Officers, Lieutenant Cody and Amanda Johns, would like to extend an invitation to you and your team to participate in something truly special—The Salvation Army of Montgomery County’s Red Kettle Challenge.
Our iconic Red Kettle Program originated in 1891 to feed the hungry Christmas dinner. It now expands across the world and provides critical funding that enables us to continue our year-round efforts of helping those who would otherwise be forgotten. Love Beyond Christmas is our holiday theme and commitment to provide hope and help to neighbors in need 365 days a year.
This year’s Red Kettle Campaign runs from early November through December 24th and all funds raised remain local to support our programs in Montgomery County. Whether it’s food for hungry families, lifesaving emergency shelter, vital case management to help individuals and families reach self-sustainability, those navigating the challenges of poverty and homelessness, or children who need a safe place to be, all programs support people who find themselves facing uncertainty, hopelessness, and provide the opportunity to be seen as a fellow neighbor.
Mark your calendar for Friday, November 29th through December 24th as a time when we are challenging all local businesses and organizations to come together for a collective purpose. During this season you will have the opportunity to create a team to represent your business/organization and choose a day for your team to ring bells, all in the name of raising funds for our community. The day can be broken into shifts, having multiple employees/team members serve as representatives for your team. This event provides a unique opportunity for team representatives to become "Bell Ringers" at high-traffic Kettle locations in their city and is a chance to shine a spotlight on the unwavering support of local business and organizational leaders, like yourself. At the close of the Bell Ringing season, we will tally the results and present well-deserved awards to our top teams for the community to see.
There's no finer way to demonstrate your dedication to the community than by including your name among other local businesses, organizations, and civic clubs joining our Red Kettle Challenge this season. Will you join the fight for good today by participating in the Red Kettle Campaign?
